I’m Trent Ledet, owner and lead calibrator of Load Logic Tuning.
I’ve been into motorsports most of my life, long before I could even drive. I grew up in Chauvin, Louisiana, and if you know small towns, you know there isn’t exactly a huge performance scene or a bunch of great shops around the corner. I also didn’t have a lot of money to throw at the hobby, so I had to learn by doing.
That meant figuring out how to diagnose problems, repair what broke, build engines and transmissions, and even build wiring when I had to. I was always trying to make things faster and better, but eventually I hit the point where the mods I was doing needed real tuning if I wanted the car to survive and actually perform right.
Around early 2014 I started tuning my own ECU. Honestly, it was messy at first. A lot of trial and error, a lot of late nights, and plenty of moments where I learned the hard way. But it stuck, and I kept going.
After a few years I moved into the 2JZ platform, and that’s where things really clicked. I started understanding the why behind what I was seeing, not just copying settings or chasing numbers. I got deep into the theory, the data, and what it takes to make power while keeping an engine happy.
During that time I bought my Audi A8L. It was supposed to be a daily while my fun car was my 2JZ Lexus IS300. I ended up doing some work to the Audi and decided to pay a tuner because I wasn’t ready to dive into OEM reflashing yet. That turned into a disaster. The tune was bad, the engine got hurt, and the response I got from the tuner was basically a joke.
That was the point where I decided I was going to learn it myself and do it the right way. I studied, tested, and iterated for about a year and a half. Different turbo setups, different fuels, constant logging, constant refining. It took time, but the results eventually became hard to ignore.
Toward the end of that process, two people reached out after seeing what my car was doing. They weren’t happy with their current tunes and they wanted me to help. I was hesitant because tuning customer cars is real responsibility, and at that point I’d only done it for myself. But I agreed, and the results spoke for themselves. The cars drove better and went faster than anyone expected, while still being safe.
That turned into more customers and then Load Logic Tuning became real. Two years later, I’m doing something I honestly never thought I’d be able to do, and I’m grateful for it. I get to work with great people and build calibrations for some seriously impressive cars.
One thing I’ll always be upfront about is I’m still learning, constantly. That’s a big part of the “no guessing” mindset I have with tuning. When a new challenge shows up, I’m not interested in making calls based on gut feelings or forcing a quick answer just to move forward. We slow down, look at the data, and figure out the why first. Then we make changes with purpose.
If you’re looking for a tuner who actually cares about how the car drives, how the data looks, and how to make it fast without guessing, you’re in the right place.
